Iliana Fuentes was born in Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico. She studied at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Pasticas 1964 - 1966 and with master painter Alfonso Ayala. Delivering courses on engaving since 1963, she had many exhibitions throughout Mexico in the early 1970s, and worldwide throughout the latter 1970s, her celebrated works are displayed in scores of museums and feature illustrative works in several books.
