DESCRIPTION: An important and rare Meissen porcelain three piece inkwell painted in the manner of Johann Gregorius Horoldt (German, 1696-1775); including one (1) rectangular tray, one (1) cube cube shaped inkpot and one (1) cube shaped sander. Superbly painted with a chinoiserie scene depicting a landscape motif, with figures flanking the sides, and surrounded by polychrome floral and geometrical patterns with Bottger lustre, and further embellished with gold gilt accents. Marked with the blue double crossed swords Meissen hallmark to base.
CIRCA: 18th Century.
ORIGIN: Germany.
