[Incunabula and early 16th cent. books]. Rosellis, A. de. Tractatus putil. de Jeiuniis. Cologne, H. Bungart, 1497, (6) lvs., 1 full-p. woodcut printer's mark, 20th cent. vellum, 4to.

- Sm. wormhole in upper corner of woodcut and in lower blank outer corner of final 4 leaves (not affecting text and woodcut). Fine copy.

= Rare treatise on the various aspects of fasting. Printed in remarkable sharply cut type, resembling the type of Johan Veldener. Of the two known versions of the woodcut, this copy has the second one: with letterpress printer's address and with partly empty shields for the coats or arms (in this copy one of the shields has a printed coat of arms and two of the empty shields have been embellished with small contemp. drawings). Goff R-326; Polain (B) 3402; BMC I, 301. Provenance: Broxbourne Library (bookplate of the Bibliotheca Broxbourniana on lower pastedown); also with the bookplate of the creator of the Broxbourne Library, Albert Ehrman, on upper pastedown and with his bibliographical annotations in pencil monogrammed "AE" on first free endpaper.
