India.- Gardener (D., compiler) The Original Calcutta Annual Directory and Bengal Register for Anno Domini 1816, ink ownership inscriptions and a few additions in a contemporary hand, light foxing, a few corners chipped or creased, a few tissue repairs to endpapers modern morocco, original printed wrappers (chipped, browned and laid down) bound in, 8vo, Calcutta, [1816].

⁂ Rare and voluminous directory and almanac listing merchants, members of the military, masonic institutions and much more. Library Hub lists only the British Library as having a copy for this year. The ownership inscription is of Samuel G. Perkins who appears to have been rather bored during his period in India, repeatedly adding the word "nothing" in the "Occurrences" section of the almanac.
