A 19th Century English "Indian Sporting Series" Platter. Blue and white transferware platter decorated at well with scene entitled "Driving a Bear out of Sugar Canes", within a border decorated with various exotic animals, including a tiger, a bear, and a crane. Series title "Oriental Sports" printed verso, otherwise unmarked but attributed to Edward Challinor. Dreweatt Neate auction label verso. Crazing, light scratches, small losses of glaze at well, some staining around rim. 13 3/8 x 16 7/8". ESTIMATE $400-600
