Early 3-case lacquer inro With a sunken panel each side, a repoussé silver dragon appearing with its fore parts on one side and tail on the other, with swirling cloud typical of the period. The ground was probably roiro originally, now faded to tan Engraved signature: Kizan/Kimitsu? Circa 1670 PROVENANCE: Soame Jenyns collection (a slip of paper inside with notes about the signature may be in his hand) Minor accidents and spots of old restoration, as one would expect with a piece of this age 50 gr Royal mail, tracked and signed
