Isaac Cookson - Large antique jug - Newcastle - .925 silver - U.K. - 1752
An excellent 18th century solid silver ewer or wine jug with large handle, standing circa 14. 5cm tall and weighing 608g, standing on a round foot, engraved to the sides with Masonic or guild crest tn one side, and phoenix within shield on the other. Possibly a conversion from a tankard or two-handled cup. Stamped to the underside with hallmarks for sterling silver, Newcastle, date mark for 1752 and maker's mark for Isaac Cookson. In a very good condition, one very small dent that can easily be fixed. Please see pictures for a good impression. This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
