Islamic Silver Rings with Gemstones
19th-20th century AD. A mixed group of Turkish and other silver finger rings with D-section hoops, comprising: three with carnelian calligraphic gemstones, two held in square-shaped settings, one in an oval-shaped setting, two with decorative elements to the hoops; one with expanding shoulders and large oval-shaped setting holding a black stone with calligraphic script, the hoop with scrollwork, geometric motifs and zoomorphic designs, the bezel with interlacing and beading. 45.8 grams total, 22-28mm (1"). From an important North West London collection; acquired in the late 1980s-early 1990s. [4]
