Italian Bronze Bust of "Hypnos", the God of Sleep
first quarter 20th century, after the ancient Roman bronze (itself a copy of a 3rd century BCE Hellenistic sculpture) excavated at Civitella d'Arna, Perugia and now conserved at the British Museum, London, on a two-part plinth with a Siena marble base, supporting a black marble block, the bust marked "Del Nero Roma" on the back.

Condition Report: Bronze bust with appealing soft verdigris patination. Marble elements with nicks, dings and small losses to edges, primarily to the lower Siena plinth. Marble components appear to be firmly attached.
