circular stepped base with baluster stem and gilded cup inside and outside. Fully hallmarked with Italian 800/1000 silver assay marks for Turin 1824-1872, silversmith Carlo Balbino (1777-post 1858) who deposited his own mark with "the imprint of a lion" and his initial letters in 1824 (Ref. Bargoni, Maestri orafi e e argentieri in piemont page 263 nr. B17 - Donaver-R. Dabbene, Argenti italiani dell'Ottocento, Vol. 1 p. 61 and 62, Vol. 2, p. 77, nr. 165). Height 22.5 cm, base diameter 12.6 cm. Weight 305 gr. Item condition grading: **** good.
