Provenance
The collection belongs to the Edwin Suib family from the United States. Edwin Suib (1924-2012) was born in Brooklyn, New York. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific. After being discharged in 1945, he enrolled at Princeton University. His first job was with Reliance Manufacturing, after which he moved into importing and became the executive vice president of Men’s Wear International. He spent a significant amount of time in the Far East and was among the first to conduct business in China in the early 1970s.
