Condition Report:
The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes, Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
This work has been restored and could be hung in its current state. The canvas is lined with wax as an adhesive. The stretcher is old but probably not original. There are signs of abrasion to the paint layer throughout. Under ultraviolet light, there do not appear to be many retouches, except in the upper right and a spot or two around the gilded section of the vase in the center right.
