JP SAUER 1937 K98 NAZI GERMAN MAUSER 8mm RIFLE

SN 5618. 24.5" barrel bolt action 8mm rifle. WWII Nazi German K-98 marked on the receiver "S/147" which is the manufacturer code for JP Sauer & Son, and dated 1937. Has matching SN on the barrel, bolt handle, floor plate of magazine, floor plate of magazine well outside, last two digits of SN "18" on the screws around the trigger guard, and full matching SN on the butt plate. The stock has been cut down into a sporter, and very nicely grooved and carved with a basket weave pattern on the left side and a thumb rest on the right. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Action is flawless. Front and rear sights are original. Finish approximately 80% with wear on the barrel and receiver. Despite the sporterization of this rifle, all of its parts appear to be original and the gun is a good candidate for restoration, but would probably make a fine shooter as it sits. Good - Very Good*
