Jaguar - XJ 4,2 liter serie I - 1973

[ translate ]

In 1968, Jaguar introduced the type XJ and called it "The finest Jaguar". The name XJ is derived from the full name of the car: Experimental Jaguar. The E-type chassis was used on the XJ which ensures safe and comfortable handling. The XJ was introduced with a 2. 8L or a 4. 2L six-cylinder in-line engine and as the XJ12 with a 5. 3L V12 engine. This model features the 4. 2L six-cylinder in-line engine which is connected to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The car was delivered new to the first owner by the Jaguar dealer in Nice, France, in 1973. The car was bought by the wealthy English Bego family who had a holiday home on the Cote d'Azur. The car came in its current colour Lavender Blue with a dark blue leather interior and walnut interior parts. It is clear the car was ordered for the French market when you see the yellow headlights. The car was sold to two Frenchmen after 35 years, they restored the car, both technically and aesthetically. It was sold to the current owner in 2014 with 94,000 km on the counter. Since then, more than € 10,000 was spent on technical optimizations to get it to its current perfect level. The engine runs extremely smooth, the gearbox works exact and thanks to the overdrive it makes few revs at cruising speed. The car accelerates very quickly and smoothly. The car has never seen road salt and was always stored indoors. This explains the perfect condition of the chassis and bottom. This Jaguar comes with a official British Heritage Certificate and a Dutch periodic vehicle inspection valid for 12 months. The current odometer reading is about 103,500 km. The car can be viewed and picked up in Hilversum, the Netherlands.
