The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.

This work is in excellent condition. The paper is lined onto linen, and it is well stretched on an old stretcher. The painting is clean and varnished. In the sky, there is a group of small retouches to the right of the dome of Saint Peter's. There are a few other tiny dots in the center of the sky. In the landscape and architecture, the only retouches are a few spots in the darkest colors in the lower left. The work should be hung in its current state.
