Beautiful embossed iron plaque by Jean Touret representing two women posing. Wooden frame covered in gold. Signed Touret on the bottom right. In excellent condition. One hairline scratch running next to the woman on the right. Jean Touret is a famous French artist and artisan. He created a famous furniture line with the Artisan de Marolles in the 1950s and, after leaving Marolles for Montils in 1963, dedicated the remainder of his life to sculptural works. He made beautiful pieces for private collections and public commissions such as the Nôtre-Dame altar and a variety of large scale Saints for the cathedral.
