It is a very rare edition, scarce in commerce, and very sought after by bibliophiles. This controversial work was included in the church's Index of Forbidden Books for its eroticism, frivolous content, and clerical irreverence. Second volume that contains 35 tales, each of them adorned with a vignette engraving, many of them of erotic nature and depicting harassing monks, infidel women, flagellation, depictions of the devil, and even a nun fornicating with a young man on a chair. All the plates are drawn by Durand and engraved by the masters Duplessi-Bertaux and Dreppe. Full antique leather binding, somewhat worn but solid. Gold embossing and spine labels. Gold wheels on the covers. 12 x 8 cm, 155 grams. Good overall condition considering its more than 240 years of age. Original text in French by La Fontaine.
