Jesse Owens's Del Craft 1961 Medal

Jesse Owens's personally-owned commemorative medal, 50 mm, 58 gm, likely given to him during a motivational speaking engagement. The front features the figure of Liberty carrying a torch, engraved by hand, "Olypmic [sic] Champion, Del-Craft Co., 1961"; the reverse features a tablet flanked by laurels, engraved with his name, "Jesse Owens." Provenance: From the estate of Jesse Owens, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from his three daughters.
