Note:
Bayes came from a family of artists, her father being Alfred Bayes (1831-1909). She gained her education from the Central School of Arts and Crafts, London, which grew directly out of the Arts and Crafts Movement of William Morris and John Ruskin.
She became a member of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters in 1906, and also created stained glass windows and illuminated manuscripts.
