His work has been interpreted as surrealism, a "sandbox" for the subconscious, a recreation of childhood nature and a manifestation of Catalan pride. Miró always expressed disdain for conventional painting methods and proclaimed the famous "murder of painting" in favor of visual elements.The work on display was created as part of the series "Ceramiques de Miró et Artigas," published by Maeght Editeur in Paris in 1974 and executed by Arte Adrien Maeght.
