Johanes STRADAMUS (Bruges 1523 - Florence 1605) , (Jan van der Straet, in French Jean STRABAN) : 6 copper engravings (chisels) from the suite "Venationes Ferarum, Avium, Piscium" published by Philippe Galle in Antwerp in 1578. - Asian elephants, 202 x 260 mm, low margin reinforced by a paper band glued to the back. - Elephant hunting, 210 x 292 mm, remains left margin tab. - Shepherd and his flock, 200 x 255 mm, foxing on the right margin, restored bottom (paper headband glued to the back) . - Snake hunting, 200 x260 mm, left margin with small lacks, bottom reinforced by a paper headband glued to the back, folds, stains on the margin. - Crocodile hunting, 206 x 265 mm. - Plaice fishing, 215 x 292 mm, remains tab on left margin. The dimensions indicated are the engravings ones. Engravers: Joan COLLAERT, Carolus de MALLERY, Philippe GALLE, Cornelis GALLE, A. COLLAERT. . . Print in good condition.
