British, mid 19th century, two gallon, two toned salt glazed jug with front impressed "JOHN BACON/AVLEY" incised in cursive at neck, "Drink and Be Merry/And Never Be Sad 1842" and "Good Luck to The Farmer/August 20th 1842", decorated with sprig applied drinking vignettes, hounds chasing a stag and buildings, incised on bottom, "A present From John Bacon/ Potter Bradley/Nr Bilston/Stafordordshire (sic)", 11 in.Provenance: The I.
