An amazing 1671 book by John Ogilbi titled America: Being the Latest and Most Accurate Description of the New World Containing The Original of the Inhabitants, and the Remarkable Voyages Thither. This book was printed by the author in London in 1671 and was “to be had at his house in White Fryers.” It contains maps, illustrations and 670 pages of text. It includes an amazing box. This copy was owned by one Peter Venables, circa 1672. 16.75in length x 11in width x 2.5in thickness; box measures 18.25in length x 12.5in width x 3.35in depth. Condition Report: Book displays surface wear commensurate with age; discoloration to spine, cover and pages; most pages have edge wear and discoloration; staining is present on many pages; both covers have come loose from binding, as well as several pages, including the title page.
