"The Evidences of the Christian Religion", by the Right Honourable Joseph Addison, Esq; To Which Are Added, Several Discourses Against Atheism and Infidelity, and in Defence of the Christian Revelation, occasionally published by Him and Others. And Now Collected into One Body, and Digested Under the Proper Heads. With a preface containing the sentiments of Mr. Boyle, Mr. Lock, and Sir Isaac Newton.

Stated "First American Edition" Printed at Boston by J. Bumstead for E. Larkin, Cornhill, 1795.

Hard boards, leather, some wear and surface scratches, rounded corners, leather creases between spine and boards, the boards are attached [see photos]; 4" x 6.3/4"; label inside cover, xix + 225 + blank + two-page Contents, some foxing, very good condition.

Joseph Addison (1672-1719) was English essayist and playwright, perhaps best known for co-founding the Spectator magazine.

Provenance:

According to the label inside front cover, the book was donated to the New Church Theological School by Rev. Wm L. Worchester in November 1911. Rev. William Loring Worcester (1859-1939) was an American theologian and writer, author of several books.
