Unusual pair of signatures on an FDC, 1p. oblong 12mo., commemorating the third Olympic Winter Games, ca. 1932, signed on the recto by KARL DONITZ (1891 - 1980), German admiral who headed the U-Boat arm of the German Navy, later succeeded Hitler as Fuhrer after Hitler's suicide, and signed on the verso by MARY PICKFORD (1893 - 1979), 'America's Sweetheart', American actress who played the role of the sweet innocent, Academy Award winner (1929) and a founder of United Artists. Decorative stamp at left moderately faded, else fine, with Jan. 25, 1932 cancel.
