Sugai Shozo was a metalworker and bronze artist. He regularly exhibited at Nitten. Sugai started metal crafting around 1915. He lived and worked in Yamagata Prefecture. He also was a regular exhibitor at the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition (Nihon Dento ko geiten) and received several awards. With original signed and sealed tomobako.
