Japanese Kakimidai (book standard) Tsuta Samurai mon edo period Very rare. This Japanese Kakimidai is from the Edo period and has been used by the Tsuta Samurai One of the strongest clans from the Mikawa province. It is well-known that many Samurai devote their entire lives to the Bushido (the way of the warrior) The higher ranked and elite Samurai in particular were well versed. This book standard was also very important and the books were often passed on for generations. A kakimidai was often used to present and honour these, made of solid wood and decorated with decorations and family mon (emblem) , just like this beautiful item. The details are beautiful, the carp and the mon make it a beautiful whole. Obviously, the statue is used and has some signs of wear, like it's supposed to. A must-have for true collectors.
