Incredible ancient Katana from the Edo period. The blade is attributed to Tokoyama Sukekane, a famous blacksmith known for his high quality blades. The general condition is excellent, the blade is in old polish, there are very few scratches (please observe the pictures) . Please enjoy this absolutely sublime Hamon with this blade. This makes the inner beauty of the sword all the more profound. On the blade is a very appreciable Bo-hi gutter type engraving. The Koshirae set is the result of remarkable work. The Saya sheath is very fine and sober, with very little wear and tear. The general condition of Saya is very good. The Saya is accompanied by a blue Sageo in very good condition. The Tsuka handle is once again in excellent condition. It is maintained with a brown Tsukamaki in very good condition, and on which two very interesting Menuki are resting (a Gold - Copper alloy) . Please enjoy the Fuchi and Kashira which are simply sublime. The sword is well held in its mount. The blade shape is Shinogi zukuri. All this on a Same-hada skate base generally in good condition, but there is some visible damage (please look at the pictures) . Important: This blade was registered in 1951 (the year of the blade registration system in Japan) and is therefore one of the very first blades registered in Japan. These blades are called "Daimyo" because it is very likely that these blades once belonged to very wealthy Japanese families who owned many precious objects and it was they who allowed the blade registration system to emancipate itself in Japanese society and become familiar with it. As a result, there are many important blades in Daimyo type recording sabres, and collectors particularly appreciate them. It is a very high quality blade and also very valuable. This sword is accompanied by an original certificate of judgement (kicho) from the NBTHK ( Nihon bijutsu token hozon kyokai) , society for the preservation and registration of Japanese swords, thus guaranteeing its authenticity, origin and attribution to the blacksmith Tokoyama Sukekane. Dimensions/weight: Hacho(Blade length) : 63. 6cm Sori (Curvature) : 1. 3cm Motomihaba : 2. 9cm Motokasane : 6. 5mm Sakimihaba : 2. 43cm Sakimihaba : 2. 43cm Nakago (the length of the handle) : 23cm Weight of the blade alone (approx.) : 569g Total weight of the blade with the Shirasaya (approx.) : 1068g Total length with the Shirasaya: 93. 01cm Delivery: Careful shipping.
