Rather outworn by the ravages of time, the etching plate of the Seated nude with pearl necklace dating from the twenties was somewhat improved in 1967, then printed anew and incorporated as an ‘encore’ with the Van Dongen illustrated luxury edition of Charles Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du Mal.
