Keshan - Carpet - 200 cm - 143 cm
Hand-knotted carpet, judging by the knotting, probably from the area surrounding the city of "Kashan", Iran (formerly Persia) . Famous carpets were made in this region by master weavers. The absolutely atypical "Bidjar" pattern makes it possible to clearly identify the present piece difficult, but the knotting itself is typical for "Keshan" carpets. A 7 x 8 knot knot was used in this carpet. The carpet is very geometric with a dominant light medallion in a standing elongated hexagon format, which is subtly repeated twice towards the border. The basic color is ochre, the pattern is a Herati design. A subtle border with golden yellow fields rounds off the carpet harmoniously. A strictly drawn silk carpet of medium fineness with an appealing color scheme. Very good condition, freshly washed.
