Kiseruzutsu 煙管筒 (pipe case) - Bambou laqué - Decorated with egret, willow and bird - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912) This kiseruzutsu 煙管筒 is made of lacquered bamboo. The bottom part is decorated with a gold-plated heron. The background is a floral pattern engraved into the lacquer. The bronze ring represents a mushroom. Behind the mushroom is the opening for passing the cord (Obi) . The top part is decorated with a gold-plated bird. All in very good condition.
