This canes knob is made from elephant skin. The 33"L shaft is elephant skin having a steel rod inside the middle of the shaft. Heavy canes like this were designed to be a weapon to protect the carrier from someone who might try and rob or disrupt you in some way. The ferrule is 1" brass/steel.
