Košice Meteorite Chondrite, H5 Vychodoslovensky, Slovakia - (48° 45' 49"N, 21° 10' 35"E) Witnessed Fall: February 28, 2010, 22:24:46 UT An exceptional example of an uncommon variety, this Košice Meteorite is an outstanding complete and fully crusted stone. Classified as a Chondrite, H5, this meteorite was a witnessed fall that fell in Slovakia in 2010. This specimen weighs 37.5 grams and exhibits a compelling black-brown "skin" over its exterior surface. The impressive individual stone is in virtually pristine condition and has numerous superb faces. This space rock fell as a number of stones, with a total known weight of only 4.3 kilograms (9.5 pounds), making it unique and relatively rare. To be sure, there is nothing ordinary about this ordinary chondrite.
