Nazareth. In the background a green mountain landscape similar to Civita d'Antino in the summer sun and in the middle ground a lake with the blue hues of the sky. From the shore of the lake a small naked boy runs up towards his father, who on the right side of the painting walks away with a carpenter's axe in his hand. The father is seen from behind; he extends his left arm towards the boy. On the left in the foreground a woman dressed in white sits on the ground half-reclining with her right hand on her chest. Her head in profile from the right side. At her left side stands a young fair man, seen from the front, dressed in a white cloak with a large golden breast buckle. He holds a harp with his right hand and looks down towards the woman. A halo-like light is indicated around the heads of the boy and the young man. 1917. Unsigned. Oil on canvas. 81×89 cm.
