Note: a life size variation of this painting by Printemps was offered in March 2018 at Bonhams / Cornette de Saint Cyr, Paris, as Lot 33 from the Collection Bernadette et Jacques Merle. The painting on offer at Ahlers & Ogletree is either a scale study of this larger painting or a smaller fully realized version painted by Printemps after the larger version was shown at l'Exposition Internationale des Beaux Arts de Monte Carlo in 1903.
