This set is in very good condition and is of very high quality, although the outside of the storage chest could use a light refinishing to restore it to its original luster. Each piece bears the French Government's Head of the Minerva - 1 Hallmark, certifying a minimum of 950 sterling silver plus the "Lagriffoul & Laval" manufacturer's sterling silver hallmark. Lagriffoul & Laval operated at 157 rue de Temple in the 3rd district of Paris from 1899 until 1972. Their Art Deco creations have won international recognition and this set is a stunning example of the quality and craftsmanship of their work.
