Title: LAWBREAKERS SUSPENSE STORIES No. 15
Place Published:
Publisher:Charlton [Indicia: Charlton Comics, Inc.]
Date Published: November, 1953
Description:

CGC certified: Good+ (2.5). Cover: Dick Giordano. Scripts: Joe Gill? Art: Dick Giordano, Stan Asch, Al Bellman, John Belfi. Overstreet: "Acid-in-face cover and story; hands dissolved in acid story." GPAnalysis: No reported sales in this grade. A 4.0 copy sold for $360 in September 2020.

Crime rag Lawbreakers Suspense featured some of the queasiest covers in the business. Number 11's notorious "tongues-cut-out" cover was the title's most extreme offering, but this issue's "acid-in-face" cover is a viable contender for runner-up. According to pre-Code sage George Suarez, "Clearly, Charlton was testing the waters for evolving this crime title into one devoted to the horror genre." — Terrology #11. NEC: 1993, p. 21.

A limited edition of 150 softcover and 15 hardcover catalogues is available. 400 lots, fully illustrated. Fun reference, great keepsake. Softcover $30, deluxe hardcover with dust jacket and limitation plate $200. Ten of the 15 hardcovers are pre-ordered and the rest will go quickly, so reserve yours now. To order, contact ivan@pbagalleries.com.

Consignments welcome for PBA's December 2021 Comic Book sale. Top prices for Pre-Code Horror, Golden Age, Silver Age, original art and ephemera. Send inquiries to ivan@pbagalleries.com.
