A pair of silk damask upholstered armchairs, in George III style, 19th century, of Gainsborough type, each rectangular back with serpentine top, above padded arms above fluted downswept supports, the overstuffed seat above moulded square section legs at the front, each 97cm high, 73cm wide, 80cm deep overall

Provenance: Gayton Hall, Wirrall

Condition Report:
Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and use old chips and splits, mainly very minor. The chairs are visually pleasing and comfortable design and proportions. The end of one arm pad of one chair bears some additional wear and resultant division/ depletion to the fabric in that small area. Some marks to the upholstery, mainly minor. Dreweatts cannot guarantee the age or originality of the structure underlying the upholstery. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
