LOUIS XVI REVIVAL ORMOLU & MAHOGANY JARDINIERE
French, late 19th to early 20th century. Louis XVI Revival ormolu and mahogany veneer jardiniere, having a pierced quatrefoil form body with liner, curving acanthus decorated legs, marble inset plinth, and rising on ball feet, apparently unmarked.
Approximate dimensions: h. 40", w. 24.5", d. 24.5".
Condition: Scattered oxidation to bronze with gilt loss, wear to liner with accretions and oxidation, water damage with repaired splits to wooden platform supporting the liner - screws are lacking and it is not attached to bronze base, no apparent cracks to marble, scuffs/scratches to wooden base with some veneer damage, no apparent other major restorations, jardiniere is structurally sound.
