According to Baro, "In 1947, Nevelson (1899-1988) briefly studied etching with Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17 in New York. In 1953, she returned to Atelier 17, and over a three-year period executed thirty prints [different subjects] on various papers and in various editions." Baro 8.
