La Dawri - Daytona V8 Corvette 283 - NO RESERVE - 1963

[ translate ]

Dawri was a small US sports car manufacturer, one of the rarest models being the Daytona version of which a few dozen were built. Primarily designed to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette C1, it included the option to use various chassis, among which the most particular is the so-called "Henry J Frame", capable of supporting powerful V8 engines. Many La Dawri were at the time advertised on the covers of famous magazines (Road & Track) and thanks to its lightness, also often used in sports competitions, see photos. This car has original documentation: the American registration document is correctly registered LA DAWRI from 1963 with chassis number validated in Oklahoma, and also has the original purchase receipt of the car and a copy of the check with which it was paid! It has been fitted with the Chevrolet Corvette 283 V8 engine with a displacement of 4700cc and almost 300hp, with manual gearbox. A La Dawri V8 was exhibited at the 2012 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance (see photo) and also at the "Le mitiche Sport a Bassano" event. The body is in resin and has no rust, the frame is very solid and in excellent condition, The car had an engine and gearbox pre-assembly, restored seats, wooden steering wheel and dashboard in order to proceed with the restoration. It is essentially complete with all its parts so you can restore the car without difficulty and without rust problems on the bodywork. The engine runs freely, a set of new stainless steel exhausts are included. The wheels turn with the steering wheel and the car does not have locked brakes. The original hardtop is included with the car. A very rare opportunity for an original La Dawri Daytona to be prepared for historical competitions with a powerful V8 engine, manual transmission and 2 seats. These projects with documents in order rarely appear on the market. US documents in order with title and customs clearance note A video of the car is available.
