A fine Italian Labeled Violin: PANIZZI GIOVANNI BATTISTA Fece in SAN REMO anno (1933) *hand written A fine violin of golden amber varnish over an orange-yellow grout with no cracks or seam openings slight ware on varnish. Suitable for professional; chamber, orchestral, chamber music, soloists and collectors. Sound is bright and penetrating. With need of playing as it has been dormant for a while. The top is a finely book-matched spruce of fine grain dense and high quality for optimal projection the Aubert French bridge is also of fine grain similar to that of the top, expertly cut in the "French" style. The back is a lovely HIGHLY figured maple one piece slab with no blemishes, it is in immaculate condition and gorgeous to look at as well as to play. The sides, neck and perfectly delicately carved scroll are of equally beautifully flamed maple. Neck is a fine dense ebony with no warping, similarly fine ebony fittings (pegs; tailpiece with single 'e' fine tuner and Guarneri style chin-rest.)
