Lahmada 020 Lunar Meteorite End Cut Lunar (feldspathic breccia) Saguia el Hamra, Western Sahara - (27.411°N, 9.845°W) Found: 2018 Classified as Lahmada 20, this meteorite end cut is simply beautiful with a smooth display face as well as a shallow exterior. The outside of the example looks like the surface of some exotic planet, and the front offers a muted mix of light and dark greenish-gray. An organic-looking vein crosses the piece and several white inclusions populate the finely grained surface of this lunar meteorite. Weighing 88.72 grams, this specimen, a feldspathic regolith melt breccia, represents the "soil" of the lunar surface from the Moon. On the 50th Anniversary of the First Man on the Moon, this meteorite found in 2018 is also very timely. Overall Measurements: 3.20 x 2.64 x 0.55 inches (8.12 x 6.70 x 1.39 cm), weighs 88.72 grams [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
