Lakeside
Woodcut on buff arches cover paper
Literature: Momentarily breaking from his playful heart and Pinocchio trajectory, Jim Dine addresses the majesty of nature in the present work. The washed-out greens and loosely drawn tree are counterbalanced by the monumentality of the heart. The woodblock used to print the present tree image was previously used for "The Foreign Plowman," and it was used again for "Noon" and "To the Lake."
Printer / Publisher: Printed by Ruth Linger and Anne Polashenski at Spring Street Workshop, New York
