Lancia - Aprilia Cabriolet van Rijswijk - 1938

[ translate ]

A unique Dutch Lancia! This is a one-off! This Lancia Aprilia from 1938 has a convertible body for 4 people built by van Rijswijk from Voorburg / The Hague, a renowned company that also built a Spyker car for Queen Wilhemina. The car is very unusual due to its streamlined nose and decorative strips on the bonnet louvers, a real show car. Most likely displayed at the RAI exhibition centre in 1938. The RAI catalogue describes the car has a participant, unfortunately no pictures. A large part of the history is known, bought by the previous owner in 1971, the engine was overhauled at the time (it has run again) , he took the car to his chateau in France. The car was kept in the coach house for at least 40 years. The linen Dutch registration (dormant) is included, even the purchase invoice from 1971. The car needs a total restoration. Some light welding required on the floor, the sheet metal is in good condition. The rear windows are missing as well as one mechanism. Technically complete. Once restored, this unique Lancia would be a very welcome sight at the Concours d'Elegance.
