Chinese, Ming Dynasty. The tripod tile works censer comprised of swan neck form handles emanating form the neck and joining the wide lip. The neck and body in decorated with floral and dragon forms in high relief. The tripod legs with mythical beast heads. Approx: h. 18.5" w 20.75". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Morton & Kathleen Sachs of Louisville, Kentucky, purchased from TK Asian Antiquities (Williamsburg, VA) in 2000 or 2001 for $4,180.
Condition Report: Repairs to both handles and two feet; one dragon missing a toe with the second dragon having repairs to toes; scattered chips; pleasing glaze and firing imperfections.
