Large French Rococo Revival Carved Rosewood and Marble-Top Console

third quarter 19th century, the shaped white marble top above a conforming carved frieze with raised panels and a central cartouche with hanging grapes, raised on four floral-carved cabriole legs joined by stretchers and a large central pierced and carved stretcher in the front.
h. 36", w. 76", d. 25-1/2"

Provenance: Descended in the family of Rafael C. and Ethel Regan Goyeneche, Sr., Mexico City, Mexico; Havana, Cuba; and New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dimensions: 76 x 36 x 25.5 in
Condition Report: In very good "as found" original condition. The surface appears to be a well-cared-for old or original finish, that has some embedded wax and dirt in the low spots. The marble top is in very good condition; it appears to be original. Sturdy and solid with no notable play in the legs. There are a few customary nicks or flakes to the edges of the carved surfaces, and a loss to the stamen of a carved flower on a rear leg; the loss is about 3/8" diameter and as tall.
