Late Amlash Bull-Shaped Askos
7th-4th century BC. A terracotta askos modelled in the round as a standing bull with barrel-shaped body, head with horns, applied eyes and large muzzle with nostril and mouth detailing, creating pouring spouts, four stub feet, short cylindrical vessel neck towards the rump, loop tail to one side, integral handle to the other. 500 grams, 14.2cm (5 1/2"). Ex UK provincial auction house; previously in a 1980s collection.
