LeCoultre is a storied brand with a history of making some of the worlds most exceptional watches. In the 1950s, they produced many innovative watches with the highest level quality. The present example is an interesting example of mid-century modern design. The playful and artfully executed case shape have stood the test of time and have that Jet-Age feel that people love. No surprise here that the Star case and diamond studded dial are US-made, a result of local content laws and a collecting category in itself.

Zodiac has been producing interesting watches under the Clebar name since 1925. The present example is a beautiful example of a Triple calendar moonphase from the 1950s. The case is oversized, with fancy claw lugs and the dial is striking. A piece for the discerning collector.

Condition Report: LeCoultre Coffin Case in 14K White Gold Dial is in very good condition, with some minor spots and discoloration from age, Case is excellent, with sharp edges, frosted texture areas and no signs of polishing. Movement is running at time of cataloging. Overall, the present example is in excellent condition. Clebar Triple Calendar Moonphase in Gold Plate Dial is good, with some scratching in the center and a hairline between the "9" and "10" hour markers. Case is in very good condition, showing some scratches and minor chips. Movement is running at time of cataloging. Overall, the present example is in very good condition.
