In 1982, LASMA held a horse auction in Scottsdale, Arizona at which LeRoy Neiman was in attendance. During the auction Mr. Neiman sketched on his program as each horse was pleased on the auction block. In 1990 when Dr. Hammer passed, the new Chairman of Occidental Petroleum divested many of Dr. Hammer's pet projects including Oxy Arabians.
